Refugee Children

Hidden Acres was established over 20 years ago with the purpose of developing a place where people can come and experience God in His creation. Our desire is that your time at Hidden Acres will be one in which you see a reflection of the very heart of the Father.

According to the United Nations, at the end of 2006 there were 32.8 million refugees or asylum seekers from various countries. This is due to religious, political or other persecution. Many are being resettled in the United States . A door has opened for ministry to refugees at Hidden Acres. In August of 2007, we held our first summer camps for refugee children in partnership with Refugee Resources.

Nearly 200 children from countries such as Somalia , Sudan , Burundi , Eritrea , Congo and Iraq attended camp. We saw God provide all that was needed for a wonderful two weeks. During the summer of 2008, we worked with about 300 children.  Our goal is to expand to four camps in 2009. This is a large undertaking, but an opportunity that God has put before us to reach many whose lives have been turned upside down by the horrors and hardship they have experienced.
